March 6, 2017

NEW YORK – March 6, 2017 – Seward & Kissel LLP is proud to recognize Partner Mark J. Hyland, who on March 3, 2017 received the Medal of Achievement, the highest honor bestowed by the Fordham Law Alumni Association (“FLAA”).

“No introduction of [Mark] would be complete without mentioning his leadership of the very alumni association that is honoring him today,” said current FLAA President Sharon McCarthy, in presenting the award to Hyland. “His leadership took the association to great, new heights. He was instrumental in shepherding the FLAA’s strategic plan through its successful conclusion, and he helped engage new communities of alumni through the formation of our first affinity groups.”

“We are very proud of Mark and his commitment to FLAA.” said Jim Cofer, Managing Partner of Seward & Kissel LLP. “On behalf of the Firm, I would like to commend Mark for his leadership and mentorship, not only with FLAA, but also here at the Firm, as well as congratulate him on receiving this prestigious honor.”

Mr. Hyland, the former President of the FLAA (2012-2014), has been a member of its board since 2008. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law (cum laude) in 1980 and was a member of the Fordham Law Review.
