“All this could result in a smoother landscape for the private funds industry. Legal experts agree that an Atkins-led SEC is less likely to pursue cases against private funds over paperwork problems, or individual cases against compliance officers,” stated Moustakis. “I do expect we’ll see fewer enforcement cases, or that could otherwise be handled in the exam process.”
