On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am EST, members of Seward & Kissel’s Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Group presented a webinar on legal issues faced by investors in cryptocurrencies.

This webinar provided a brief introduction to cryptocurrencies followed by a discussion of a number of legal issues faced by investors in, and holders of, cryptocurrencies, such as whether cryptocurrencies are securities, custody of cryptocurrencies and related issues, commodity-related aspects of cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency futures, tax implications and treatment of cryptocurrencies as collateral and in insolvency contexts.
