Seward & Kissel LLP is pleased to announce that Bruce Paulsen and Andrew Jacobson, along with Cherie Spinks from Simmons & Simmons LLP, co-authored a chapter in Global Investigation Review’s forthcoming and inaugural Guide to Sanctions. The Guide to Sanctions is a first-of-its-kind publication, providing an in-depth review of economic sanctions laws, export controls, enforcement, and compliance.
Seward & Kissel’s chapter, titled “Navigating Conflicting Sanctions Regimes,” an excerpt of which is available here, focuses on managing conflicting sanctions regimes, including as it relates to U.S. extraterritorial secondary sanctions and the EU Blocking Statue. In addition, the Chapter provides a detailed study of the U.S.’s anti-boycott laws, including the history, applicability, and breadth of those laws. Finally, the Chapter discusses best practices for drafting contractual language, performing due diligence, and managing sanctions-related risk.
Seward & Kissel congratulates Cherie Spinks at Simmons & Simmons, and the other editors and contributors, for an extraordinarily detailed and comprehensive first edition of the Guide to Sanctions.
Bruce Paulsen and Andrew Jacobson are members of Seward & Kissel’s Sanctions Practice Group.
